Our History

ADS began with the understanding that people can and do change and that recovery is possible. ADS began with a commitment to a better future – for every one of us affected by substance abuse.

The origins of our agency began in Guilford County in 1971. We have a long and established history of providing care for people suffering from addiction to alcohol and other drugs. ADS is the result of several mergers which brought together years of expertise and key providers of alcohol and drug prevention and treatment services in Guilford County.

Our Team

Our team of professional staff consists of a Clinical Psychiatrist, a Doctor of Nursing Practice/Certified Family Nurse Practitioner/Certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurses, Certified Substance Abuse Counselors, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialists, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Substance Abuse Prevention Consultants, and a State Certified HIV Educator.
